There’s no one combination of ATAR, UCAT, and interview score that’s required to get into medicine. Each university has its own weighting and scoring system, though there are some generalised rules. ATAR and the VCE score you receive carry the most weight. It tends to sit around 50-65% of the overall requirement. The UCAT takes up another 20-35%.
These two scores tend to make up the shortlist, with the interview creating a similar percentage of the final decision. Students don’t need perfect scores in all three areas; a higher score in one area can help offset a slightly lower result in another. Consistency is most rewarded overall.
