Learning how to study effectively is critical, and it must be coupled with effort to ensure a high ATAR score.

Students should start VCE tutoring as early as possible to see real results. Our Primary School program takes students as young as Year 7, helping prepare them for the academic demands of their senior years of schooling. 

The earlier students can learn how to study for VCE performance, the smaller the jump the move to the VCE will feel. This prevents burnout and encourages the best possible results.

VCE tutoring can significantly change a student’s final study score. The reason VCE study score improvement occurs with tutoring is the skills taught in the programs. Breakthrough Education has significantly transformed several students’ results, with our VCE tutoring contributing to 90+ ATARs among some of the top scorers across the state. 

The biggest mistake students make in Years 11 and 12 is not preparing early enough. Many students in Year 11 believe they don’t need to start preparing, as the results “don’t actually count”. This causes students to receive poor marks later on, as their preparation wasn’t sufficient to ensure they received good marks. 

VCE tuition in Melbourne is incredibly important in Year 12, as this is when marks begin to impact ATAR scores. Students can mistake poor results as an indication that they’ll receive a low ATAR, and they won’t allow themselves the opportunity to improve. 

Data-driven study systems are becoming important, but not essential, for achieving a 95+ ATAR score. When done well, data can help guide students in identifying weaker areas and analysing study habits that actually work for each student. Nothing replaces genuine study, and effective study methods will always outshine data-driven content.
